Building awareness and giving communities a voice is critical to our success.
We’re constantly looking for ways to increase the awareness of illiteracy. In addition to the awareness raised from our other programs, we use public figures to educate families and children on the importance of reading.
This in turn also creates spaces for parents’ and families’ voices to be heard. We can then advocate to organisations on their behalf, while creating specific programs to meet their needs.
For example, we may speak to the local library about holding bi-lingual story times or to the community centre about running a program for educating ADHD children.
Volunteer to help raise awareness.
